GREG Mirabella has been elected to the role of Liberal Party Victoria country vice-president in a two-way battle with incumbent Serge Petrovich.

But the Wangaratta beef producer has ruled out using the position as a platform to enter politics and target the federal seat of Indi held previously by his wife, Sophie.
"It's not something I want to do and it's not the reason I stood," Mr Mirabella said.
"Absolutely not."
Mr Mirabella said he stood for the executive position to give a genuine voice to country-based party members given his predecessor is a Melbourne-based barrister.
"The Liberal Party's next order of business is to make Matthew Guy the Premier and to do that the Andrews Labor Government has to be moved on," he said.
"Things the Andrews Government have done, in particular with the CFA, has been enough to motivate me to get more involved in the party.
"I stood because people asked me to and I am that sort of person."
