One goal was scored by each team early in the piece and from then the game was very tightly contested.
Both defences worked overtime to secure their goal and keep the scores level.
United keeper Tahlia Simpson played very well to keep her team in the game.
Riley Sutherland and Shae Billingsly were the standout players for Wodonga.
In the other women’s results, Wombats defeated Norths 4-3, while Falcons were far too strong for Magpies, coming away with a 4-1 victory.
Falcons and Magpies played out a tense 1-1 draw in division one men.
Magpies dominated the first half and continually attacked the ball, but Falcons were very effective on the counter.
In one such reply, Dave Myers managed to put the ball away for Falcons, who then led till half-time.
The second half was incredibly tight and most of the match was played in the centre two quarters on the field.
It looked like no-one was going to penetrate the defence until 15 minutes to go when Jeremy Maggs broke through with the equaliser for Magpies.
The game continued with neither team able to dominate, as the score stayed locked at 1-1.
Wombats made it two in a row with a 5-2 win over Norths, while Wodonga reversed its fortunes with a dominant 8-2 triumph against United.
