Three BJR vehicles were smashed during a 12-car pile up on the second lap of a Supercars race at Symmons Plains in Tasmania on Saturday.
Two BJR cars were also damaged in an earlier Dunlop Super2 race.
Jones said about 20 crew worked on the three main cars until 3am Sunday to restore them for that day’s racing, and he added he was proud of his drivers’ results.
“I couldn’t give you a dollar figure but it was quite a substantial amount,” he said of the team’s damage bill.
“One car had the front torn off it, another had the front and back damaged, and another had back damage.”
The bill from the biggest crash in Supercar history is estimated at $5 million.
Jones said the cost “does add up pretty quickly.
“There’s always an impact when there’s a cost,” he said.
“It’s only two weeks until the next event, we’ll be burning the midnight oil.”
