She said she was “thrilled” the federal government eliminated 216 eligible occupations for visa holders and did not believe it would impact workers in the Border’s agriculture industries.
“We don’t bring in 457 visa holders to work at cafes or McDonald’s or hairdressers or other jobs that Australians can clearly do,” Senator Hanson said. “We actually have to put out a better work ethic to our young Australians that are coming through because their attitude is they don’t want to work, they don’t feel they need to work and I think we need to instil a work ethic into Australians.
“There are jobs out there and there are Australians that want to work.”
