While the winless pair naturally won’t like talk about it after only three rounds, there appears to be a gap to the rest of the competition.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a grand final, but it’s certainly very important just to get that first win on the board, probably getting the monkey off the back,” Corowa coach Terry Burgess said.
If the Roos lose, they’ll potentially have a better chance in round 12 when star recruits James Lawton and Adam Cullen are available following suspension.
“They’re coming off a pretty tough week against Albury (209-point loss), but they showed in a brief period there in the third quarter, they can kick quick goals if you let them win the ball out of the middle,” Rovers’ co-coach Sam Carpenter said.
The Hawks have made three changes, including Shane Gaston’s season debut.
