In the men’s, a play-off between top of the table Wombats and reigning premiers Magpies resulted in a 3-3 draw, while Norths and Wodonga played out an entertaining match, which saw Norths prevail 7-6.
Falcons and CR United went into the round equal on points, eager to add more.
The first half provided some tough hockey, with both teams scoring early.
Falcons continued to play well, with continued pressure resulting in them hitting the lead just before half-time.
CR United equalised early in the second half, before a quick turn over saw Falcons go 3-2 up.
Dave Foster scored for CR United off a short corner to equalise again with 12 minutes to go.
A short corner with 22 seconds left on the clock saw Falcons Matt Mills score to steal a 4-3 victory.
In the womens, ladder leaders Falcons went down 7-3 to CR United and Magpies defeated Wombats 3-1.
Norths took on Wodonga, with Norths’ Nan Latta converting a short corner midway though the first half to give them a 1-0 lead at the break.
Norths came out firing in the second half, jumping Wodonga with two quick goals to take a 3-0 lead.
A further goal from Brooke Purtell stretched the margin to four, but Wodonga wasn't done as they continued to press forward through the middle, putting two in the net late in the second half.
Norths saw out the final attack to come away 4-2 winners.
