Jaydon Mark Doran, also known as Jaydon Moon, told an officer he would kill him and his family as he was arrested for the offence last month.
The 21-year-old attended the golf club in the early hours of March 24 in a bid to get cash.
A white Holden Colorado utility had been stolen from the Wodonga Leisure Centre two days earlier and was used to smash through the front entry of the building.
Co-offender Kane Corben reversed the vehicle inside at 2.36am, causing extensive damage to items in the foyer.
The vehicle smashed into an ATM machine, causing damage.
But the impact also caused a wheel to leave the ground, leaving the utility unable to be driven out.
Doran jumped out and tried to put weight on the back to get traction, but the pair fled only two minutes into the attempted theft.
Police found Doran at a home in Bogong Street, only a few hundred metres from the crime scene, at 3.50am.
He was placed under arrest but sprinted from the house and was chased about 500 metres by police.
He got up onto a roof in Benambra Court but officers managed to convince him to come down.
The 21-year-old made threats to the officer and was charged with intimidating and causing actual bodily harm to the policeman.
Officers noted the pair were “well affected” by drugs with cuts to their abdomen.
A search of Doran’s girlfriend’s home found a blue backpack, which was caught on security camera footage filmed at the golf club.
Clothes used during the ram raid, including pants, jackets, and shoes were also found at the home.
A man’s wallet and ice in a small plastic container was also found.
He claimed to have taken Xanax that night and said he had no memory of being in Bogong Street or of being arrested.
He also denied knowing about a black Volkswagen which had been used to steal fuel the night before.
Doran pleaded guilty to five charges in Albury Local Court on Monday, which followed an earlier guilty plea by his co-offender.
Police want him to forfeit his car, which he is opposing.
He will return to the court on June 6 for sentencing.
