Raiders built on their first-term lead at every change, posting a 44-23 win.
“They’re our cross-town rival, so it’s good getting the win on them,” Brooke Pryse said.
“We worked well as a team and you could really see our support for each other and I think that teamwork overrides the win.”
Georgia Thomas posted 28 goals in the win, while coach Alison Leech chipped in with 16.
“Old girl, Al (Leech), she’s pretty good in that shooting circle, she’s really strong,” Pryse said.
“We’ve got a pretty tough side, we’ve got lots of body, so Georgette Meunier and myself, we give a lot of body-on-body, it gets the other team rattled.”
Pryse’s physicality was one of the major reasons she was named Raiders’ best, while Thomas’s accuracy was difficult to counter.
Raiders have now split their first four games, but face a tough test against North Albury on May 6.
“It’s a strong start for us, it’s a development year,” Pryse said.
Sarah Sharp and Jess Barton were the pick of the visitors.
Wodonga is still winless after the first month and is still rebuilding after a number of its stars left after the 2015 premiership.
Meanwhile, North Albury edged out its strongest rival in the other ANZAC Day match.
The Hoppers pipped Albury, 38-35.
Grace Senior was marvellous for the visitors, shooting 35 goals.
The Tigers’ defence struggled to stop the attacking spearhead after she received strong support from the defence and midcourt.
Claire Wilson played her role for the home side with 26 goals, while Jess Fisher-Curnow posted nine.
Albury was undefeated heading into the match, while North had just the one loss, to the unbeaten Yarrawonga.
The Tigers held a two-goal lead at quarter-time, but North grabbed a one-goal break at half-time.
Albury regained the lead by two, restricting North to only five goals.
But North doubled the Tigers’ output in the final term snaring 10 goals to five.
Senior was unstoppable, and was clearly best-on-court.
State representative star Nakita Singe again showed why she has played at the elite junior level with another strong performance.
Wilson was terrific for the Tigers, while Gabe McRae also played well.
Albury will now face Wangaratta on May 6.
Wangaratta meets Yarrawonga on Saturday to complete round four over the ANZAC round.
