Wodonga will welcome more than 50 teams from 12 different associations to Kelly Park for a massive day of matches in the under 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s.
The hosts will face plenty of tough competition from Albury, Benalla, Hume league, Picola and District league, Mansfield, Murray league, Wangaratta, Wagga, Kyabram, Yarrawonga.
Netball Wodonga president Holly McFarlane said it’s always a successful event.
“The club puts in a great effort to make a tournament like this happen,” she said.
“It draws a big crowd to the region with accommodation as well.
“We also have a lot of local businesses that sponsor us and a lot of sporting stores that come down for merchandise on the day.”
McFarlane said the tournament acts as a platform for future netball careers.
“Generally it’s the best girls of the region that make the rep teams and we play six tournaments throughout the next few months,” she said.
“It’s a very strong competition, they can play between six to 12 games on the day.
“A lot of the girls might play each other in the Tallangatta league, the Saturday junior competition or Ovens and Murray, so it’s good for them to play against players from outside the area as well.”
Play starts on Sunday at 8.30am, with the finals to be staged from 3pm.
Netball Wodonga welcomes everyone to come along and watch some of the young stars in action.
