However, there would have been more pressure on this Sunday’s clash with Cobram Roar after the points from the United clash were thought to be stripped from the Wanderers for incorrectly filling out the team sheet.
Fortunately for the Wodonga club, the issue was resolved as the player left off the sheet was registered, meaning the club was only forced to pay a fine.
Wanderers goalkeeper Daniel Grubisa believes the ladder position doesn’t reflect their form.
“I think we’ve had the lead in every game, but had some little lapses,” Grubisa said.
“We were in front against Melrose and they were lucky to get two back and the same with Myrtleford where we lost in the 93rd minute.”
In other games this round, Albury United host Albury Hotspurs, Wodonga Diamonds meet Melrose, Wodonga Heart face Boomers, Albury City clash with Myrtleford, while St Pats take on Wangaratta City.
