It wasn’t the only final scoreline to surprise, as the goals were piled on across the league.
Melrose was handed an almighty scare, but managed to get out jail, 5-3, against Wodonga Diamonds at Diamonds Park.
Albury United was also put to the test at Jelbart Park, before finishing strongly to defeat Albury Hotspurs, 6-4.
Wangaratta City did enough to take care of the winless St Pats, 4-1, at Alexandra Park, while Boomers continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 7-0 thumping of Wodonga Heart at Willow Park.
