Victorian budget to unveil $8.3 billion in surpluses over four years
With Victoria’s state budget less than 36 hours away, the Andrews government is predicting a $1.2 billion surplus for the coming financial year, rising to an annual average of $2.4 billion for the remaining three years of the budget period. More here

NSW: Wollongong councillor Bede Crasnich has heard all the stories of a panther, or panthers, roaming the Illawarra escarpment and he’s not buying it. He’s offered to pay $5000 to anyone who can show him an Illawarra-caught panther. The big cat must be captured alive, and must be unharmed, he stresses.
