The young Magpies showed no signs of a hangover from last weekend’s drought-breaking victory as they shored up their position in the top-four.
Coach Craig Bosley rated the win highly.
“It’s an exciting group,” Bosley said.
“They have gelled really well.
“There is a good vibe at the club and, like every club, we are aiming for finals.”
The McCarthy brothers were outstanding for the victors.
Dan kicked 6.7 from the centre while Ben and Kieren were constant threats up forward and through the midfield.
Isaac Warren, Daniel Leeworthy and Dylan Muggivan also played vital roles in the victory.
Cudgewa, who were missing several key players including coach Kiale Crowther, Jordan Wakeling and Adam Bloom, relied too heavily on forward Aaron Monk.
He kicked four majors and was supported by Morgan Klippel and Jack McInerney.
The Blues’ cause wasn’t helped by Luke Bloom being sent-off.
“It’s been a good start to the season but nobody is getting ahead of themselves,” Bosley said.
“This week will be really tough against Corryong.
“Our reserves had a good win as well so the club is on a bit of a high after a tough few years.
“We are just looking to keep improving and hopefully the results will come.”
Bullioh accounted for reigning premier Federal by 55 points.
The Bulldogs had winners everywhere with Alex Freeman, Jordan Condon and Jake Fisher-Curnow playing leading roles.
Brandyn Phillips continued to be a focal point with six goals.
Federal had triers in Matthew Collins, Cameron Tyrell and Jordan Wilson.
Corryong upstaged Tumbarumba by 72 points.
The Demons peppered the goals and finished with 35 scoring shots to 13.
