ON paper, Federal’s start to the season doesn’t make for good reading.

The Swans have gone down by 100, 27 and 55 points in the opening three rounds and lost captain George Galbraith and veteran Danny Hibberson to long-term injuries along the way.
But coach Gerard Midson is far from despondent.
“We think the last two games we have been right in it with such a young group,” Midson said.
“There is just a big difference between our good and bad.
“Since round one there has been improvement.
“Corryong had bigger bodies and probably bullied us a bit, but we improved against Cudgewa and could have come away with the points and then it was one bad quarter which cost us last week.
“Tumba is another good test on Saturday.”
Cam Tyrell has been rock solid in defence while Cam Sheather is playing well since crossing from Wodonga Raiders.
Mitch Paton and Jordan Wilson have also come under notice.
Jake Peters joined Federal late and is also showing promise.
Federal and Tumbarumba are the only two sides in the competition without premiership points and the Swans should stop the rot at Tumbarumba on Saturday.
Corryong will start favourites against Border-Walwa at Corryong and Bullioh look too strong for Cudgewa at Bullioh.
