Parnell, 12, faced off against the former doubles superstar in a friendly first-to-five when Woodbridge visited St Patrick's and two other schools.
The Border young gun took out an entertaining 5-0 win in front of his schoolmates.
“I thought I’d do better than that, but how good is it to have a kid of that talent with the whole school behind him,” Woodbridge said.
“It was great fun.”
Both Woodbridge and Parnell have competed in the Bruce Cup, one of New South Wales’ premier junior tournaments.
“For a young kid like Rory, representing the state in the Bruce Cup, he's already started his journey,” Mr Woodbridge said.
“It’s going to be be great to see a kid come out of a regional area like Albury and go all the way.“
Mr Woodbridge is touring the country promoting the Hotshots tennis program, which is giving out roughly 80,000 free racquets to aspiring young players.
