Here's what's been happening so far this weekend:

A new off-leash dog park will replace the old Yarraunga pool site in Wangaratta, Shana Morgan reports. The pool was controversially shut down just aver a year ago.

Shana also reports Labor MLC Jaclyn Symes has been pre-selected for the Northern Victoria legislative council seat a whopping 18 months out from the state elections.

On the sporting front, it was a winning day for the Ovens and Murray's senior footballers and netballers when they clashed with the Gouburn Valley League on Saturday.

Andrew Moir reports on the O&M's 42-35 win over the GV, their first in seven years.

It was a series of players making their interleague debut that drove the Ovens and Murray to a thrilling seven-point victory on the footy field, also by Andrew Moir.
