Wangaratta’s Jade Cleeland, ex-Lavington best and fairest Nick Meredith and Myrtleford duo Matt Munro and Jake Sharp played in Werribee’s 11-point win over Collingwood at Norm Minns Oval on Saturday.
“The boys playing seniors every week, they probably won’t because of the intensity of the footy,” Lamont said.
“But there’s a couple of byes coming up in the next month where a few of them might go back.”
Former Wodonga forward Nathan Laracy and Lavington’s Brydan Hodgson have been injured.
“Brydan missed all of last year with a hip-groin injury and he had an operation,” Lamont said.
“He’s had a bit of a rebuild, but we’re really pleased with how he’s going.
“Nathan hurt his knee badly in round one last year and hasn’t really played since then.
“He’s combining his training with doing a Level 2 coaching and accreditation course, so he’s a highly-respected member of our club.”
Former North Albury midfielder Dom Brew, who played against Myrtleford at Easter, is in Werribee’s development outfit.
Munro, who also played in that Easter game, was named in the best in the VFL clash against the Pies, while Meredith faced his tallest test on 211-centimetre Mason Cox.
“Hell of a match-up for Nick, we had a couple of our other tall defenders out and I reckon he learnt a lot, but he handled himself well,” Lamont said.
