Chop chop op raided by the ATO

A RECENT tobacco raid at Rosewhite netted 9000 illegal plants with an excise value of up to $750,000, the Australian Tax Office has revealed.

The property was raised on May 4, with the plants discovered in 12 large hothouses.

The tobacco plants were seized, along with equipment used to process it.

Investigators are looking at possible links between the crop and plants found at Yarroweyah and Euroa in the past week.

It's the peak growing time for tobacco.
