Having run the Wangaratta Spiritual Church until about three years ago, Ms Hood now lives in Sydney but maintains connections in the North East.
She has been offering mediumship workshops and private readings in Wodonga this week.
“It feels like a bit of a homecoming,” she said.
Ms Hood said a wide cross-section of people sought comfort or guidance through her “spiritual work”.
“People come for different reasons,” she said.
“Someone might have lost a loved one and want to connect or others want to know: ‘Am I going to get out of working the night-shift?’.
“People might come for a reading because they want life guidance.
“It’s something they can come to in a friendly sort of way.”
Ms Hood said she had been seeing spirits since she was seven.
“At 16 I got scared about it and wanted it to be taken away,” Ms Hood said.
“When I was 34 and looking for answers in my own life I got directed to the Spiritual Church.”
Ms Hood migrated to Australia about six years ago to share her teachings.
“The spirit world told me to come here and I love it here,” she said.
Together with Border woman Patricia Carr, Ms Hood will host an Evening of Evidential Mediumship in Wodonga on Thursday.
It will be held at Felltimber Hall from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
