From June 29, 37 and 44-seater Embraer Regional Jets will conduct 110-minute flights on Sundays and Thursdays, departing the Gold Coast at 10.50am and returning to Albury at 1.10pm.
The route, which comes a year after direct flights from the Border to Brisbane were announced, will also allow connections from Townsville and Rockhampton through to Albury.
Albury Mayor Kevin Mack welcomed the announcement from JETGO managing director Paul Bredereck.
“I know that many Border travellers will be thrilled at the chance to escape our winter chill – landing on the sunny Gold Coast in less than two hours from take off,” he said.
