FORMER Wodonga City swimmer Heath MacLeod has been selected in the Australian side to compete in the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas in July.
MacLeod, who is in a 14-member swim team, will compete in breaststroke and the relays.
The former Scots School Albury student left the district in 2015 and swims for the MLC club in Melbourne.
It will be the 17-year-old’s first overseas competition.
MacLeod will take part in a training camp in Queensland before the games start on July 19.
He hopes to make the Commonwealth Games trials next year.
Athletes aged between 14 and 18 years will battle it out in athletics, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, judo, rugby 7s and swimming in the Bahamas.
The team will be directed by former Australian swimmer and team general manager, Matthew Cowdrey, who led the team in Samoa in 2015.
