The Panthers are missing their talls from last year in Adam Prior, Justin Koschitzke and Andrew Dess, while this year’s star forward Luke Garland is suspended.
“We’ll be a bit smaller than normal,” coach James Saker said.
‘We need our guys like Tom Hargreave, Kade Garland, these type of players, Jono Spina played forward for us last week, they really need to step up.”
One of the Panthers’ two debutants in Noah Amery will also play as a forward.
“He’s had a huge pre-season and has obviously got lots of skills and composure,” Saker said.
As well as a talented footballer, the 17-year-old is also an outstanding student, undertaking Year 12 subjects a year early.
“I’d be able to do three or four subjects and finish next year with a couple more to boost my ATAR,” he said.
