Murray captained Victoria’s amateurs to victory in the interstate series in Western Australia, before leading Commonwealth Golf Club to the Golf Victoria division one pennant crown against The National on the weekend.
The 20-year-old now has one individual and two team titles to his name in 2017 and admits it has been his most consistent season to date.
“I think we were definitely underdogs going into the interstate series against NSW and we got beaten by The National at home earlier in the year and were able to beat them,” Murray said.
Sunday’s victory was Murray’s fourth division one title.
His current form will hold him in good stead for his next three events in the UK, which he departs for on Monday.
Wodonga teenagers Liam Gransden (men’s), Daniel Gill (colts) and Madison Peters (women’s) also had pennant wins for Commonwealth Golf Club on Sunday.
