The 26-year-old Border product has been selected to compete in the World Games in Poland this July as the representative from the Oceania region.
Dalitz will be playing against professionals from the top 16 of the world snooker rankings, as well as the cream of the crop from the amateur scene.
He admitted it will be right up there with the biggest tournaments he has played in after qualifying on the back of a strong display at the Oceania Snooker Championship, held in Albury in March.
“I played in some world under 21 tournaments a couple of years ago, but this will be bigger,” Dalitz said.
“I’ll be over there to lap up the experience, I won’t be expected to win because I’ll be in greater depth against the best players in the world.
“I won’t put any high expectations on myself.
“I’ve been playing in a lot of tournaments in Melbourne and Sydney and have got another five tournaments before I go to Poland, so I’ll be really busy up until then.
“I’ve had quite a bit of success, which has helped me strive to keep going.”
Dalitz added he will receive minimal financial support and the trip will be largely self-funded.
The World Games will be held in Wroclaw, Poland, from July 20-30, attracting 4000 athletes across more than 30 different sports.
