The Border-based troupe cleaned up at the competition, winning a swag of trophies among the 30-strong contingent that travelled to Melbourne.
Dancer Matt Davies said the genre’s unique style was what had drawn he and his partner Keren Goncharov to the dancefloor.
“A lot of people know it as a progression from swing – a more upbeat style,” he said.
“We’ll dance anywhere there’s music – anything from the likes of Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis to more modern stuff as well.
“We want to bring it out so that people on the street want to come along and join in as well.”
