Set to roll out from July 1 in Albury and October 1 in Wodonga, the NDIS is Australia’s largest social and economic reform since the introduction of Medicare in the 1970s.
And it's a new way of providing support to Australians with a disability.
The NDIS will provide Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to enjoy an ordinary life.
It will help people with disability achieve their goals; this may include greater independence, involvement in the community, employment or education.
