$290,000 granted to charitable causes at the Big Give 2017
Grants unveiled at the Border Trust’s Big Give on Wednesday evening ranged from $110,000 to $500. The largest amount went to the mothers and babies’ unit at Wodonga hospital from the City2City run walk held in February. More here
Regional Development Australia Murray launches Regional Plan 2016-2019
Most NSW regional cities and rural towns along the length of the Murray River are predicted to grow in the next two decades, a new regional plan shows. RDA Murray chief executive Gary Saliba says it's vital the region is capable of dealing with a changing environment. More here
Yackandandah's Mary Tragardh skips side to victory in Bowls Classic
A Ladies side has taken out the Commercial Club Bowls Classic for the first time in the tournament’s 35-year history. Yackandandah’s Mary Tragardh, Bairnsdale’s Faye Clark and Melbourne’s Evelyn Martin won their seven games and finished 45 shots up. More here
Talented Argentinian dynamo Gonzalo Freddi joins Murray United
Murray United has moved quickly to fill its renaming Visa spot by signing Argentinian attacking weapon Gonzalo Freddi from Richmond SC. The 24-year-old will play for the Border side for the remainder of this season, with the aim of also staying on in 2018. More here

Peter Baguley
Peter Baguley has been giving back for as long as he’s needed support.
He first came to the Salvos for assistance seven years ago. The organisation has since supported him through university, where he studied horticulture.
The Salvation Army volunteer will be collecting for the organisation’s Red Shield Appeal, which launched on Tuesday. Read more
