The Bulldogs stunned the league with a 40-point win over Albury in round two, but they haven’t approached that form in losing three of the last four games.
“We’ve just got to get back to using the footy really well, working for each other, but more of the pressure stuff that we brought to Albury,” McKye Turner said.
Wodonga’s win over the Tigers was due to its frenetic pressure and precise use of the ball.
In their only win since, the Bulldogs played solidly against Myrtleford, but failed to replicate the clinical movement of the ball.
“We want to prove it to everyone else and ourselves that we can mix it with the best,” Turner said.
“We know inwardly we can, we’ve just got to prove it.”
Wodonga has split its six games, to sit a win out of the top five.
Yarrawonga lost its first game last round to Albury.
“We’ll look to be as physical as them, we just need to match them on the inside and then we’ll look to get them on the outside as well,” Turner said.
Wodonga has the league’s third-best defence.
The Bulldogs have conceded only 370 points, an an average of 62.
The club is yet to concede a three-figure total, with Wangaratta’s dangerous forward line posting 95 points last week.
The flipside is the Bulldogs are struggling to score.
They sit sixth, averaging 73 points.
In a major worry for coach Dean Harding, the club has kicked only 19 goals in its three losses.
Former Port Melbourne forward Steve Murray is the leading goalkicker with 12.
Collingwood VFL defender Ryan Pendlebury has been named as an emergency in what will be his first game since Good Friday.
He’ll add polish to the line-up as Wodonga looks to reignite its season.
Interestingly, he’ll meet Collingwood team-mate Lach Howe, who missed the loss to Albury with VFL duties.
