Christina Stefanou opened the scoring in the ninth minute, but it was Torey Saisanid who was the chief destroyer, finishing with four goals.
Boomers now have a five-point buffer back to the third-placed Wodonga Diamonds and sit three points behind Albury City.
Wangaratta bounced back from last week’s defeat with a 6-2 win at Cobram.
Albury Hotspurs were far too strong for Melrose, coming away with a convincing 6-1 victory, while Albury City edged out Wodonga Diamonds 2-1.
St Pats and Albury United both enjoyed the bye.
