Border anglers Wolfgang Huber and Bruce Redman will offer the one-off service at Repair Cafe Albury-Wodonga on Saturday at the Sustainable Activity Centre.
Mr Huber urged people to fix their rods before putting them into storage for winter.
“It’s a good time of year to do basic repairs, ready for next spring,” he said.
“If you’ve got a broken rod we can shorten and build it back together, we’ll show you how to replace broken eyelets and, if you’re not sure how to clean reels, we can take you through the steps.”
Repair cafe coordinator Lizette Salmon said repairers would darn jumpers too.
“Winter woollens are being pulled out of storage around now and sadly some will come with a new moth hole or two,” she said.
“If you’d like to extend the life of your jumpers, vests and cardigans, Gillian Moody and Penny Vine will show you their time-honoured darning techniques.”
Repair Cafe Albury-Wodonga operates 10am to 1pm on the first Saturday of each month, except January.
