The perennial powerhouses face some selection headaches in the countdown to September juggling their lists which are both relatively injury free.
In the eight rounds played so far, the Pigeons have hit the limit of 38 on three occasions, all in the first four rounds.
Big point players in the side this year are Mark Whiley (6), Lachlan Howe (5), Jake Wild (4), while Tom Walliss is yet to play a senior game, but is set to come in at three points.
Last week's game was their lowest for year with 30 points on the field, but Howe, Wallis and Wild all missed.
Pigeons’ co-coach Chris Kennedy is confident his full-strength side won’t be restricted by points, but admits there are some grey areas within the system.
“Lachlan Howe and Jake Wild played junior footy here and they’re still classed at near maximum points,” Kennedy said.
“Jake won a best and fairest at Mulwala, so I think that puts him up another point.
“Walliss is a big chance of playing this week and he’s one less point than last year (4 down to 3), so we know we’ll be pushing it, but we should be right with it all.
“It’s just a bit frustrating when you’ve got local boys that attract such high points.
“(Albury’s) Daniel Cross can come back as one point and both these guys played thirds at Yarrawonga and are four and five points, it doesn’t quite add up to me.”
Albury has found itself in a similar situation, having peaked at 37 out of 38 two weeks ago when reigning Strang Medallist Josh Mellington (5) played his first game back from suspension.
They also had Sam Schulz (4), Oliver McEwan (4), Erish Uthayakumar (4) playing, but were without Daniel Cross (1), Brayden O'Hara (2), John Mitchell (1), Michael Thompson (1) or James Grills (1), who all sit in their best side.
The Tigers dropped back to 32 out of 38 against Lavington at the weekend, with no Schulz, McEwan, Cross, Luke Daly (1), Grills and Mitchell.
