The contents of the note are yet to be revealed by police, but it was such that emergency services were called to the airport and a man was arrested just minutes after the plane landed.
The 30-year-old man was later charged with send document threatening death or grievous bodily harm and give false information person/property in danger.
He was granted bail and will face Albury Local Court on July 4.
Sydney woman Wendy Willett, who flew down to Albury to visit family, sat next to the man who was later arrested.
She said everything seemed normal until the plane come to a stop.
“We came to a halt on the tarmac and suddenly the cabin crew near the back started yelling ‘we have to evacuate, leave all your belongings',” she said.
“He didn't seem drunk, it didn't seem like there was anything unusual about him.
“He just read a book for most of the flight.
“I think something must have happened mid-flight, he got up and went to the bathroom at one point”
Mrs Willett said the man had jumped from the plane at the same time as the rest of the passengers, but was met quickly by police.
“They pulled us all over to one side and they jumped on the man very quickly,” she said.
“As soon as we were off they nabbed him.
“It was very scary, as soon as we saw the police outside the plane we knew something must have been going on.”
Another passenger, Wodonga's Glen Modra, said she thought the incident must have been a bomb threat.
“At first I thought there must have been a fire or something,” she said.
“I'm assuming it was a bomb threat or something like that, they went right through the plane.
“There was no smoke or anything like that.
“I thought the response was absolutely brilliant, everyone was well trained, well versed, very calm and organised.
“The police were just amazing.”
