While the club’s recruits have slotted in nicely, Anthony Pope, Tyson Muller, Nick Murray, Andrew Yates, Nat Williams, Mason Gilfillan and Taylor Clark played in Henty’s under-17 premiership last season and have grabbed their opportunities.

Jonathan Male is also proving dangerous after spending last season with Lavington’s under-16s.

“The young blokes have done well,” Klemke said.

“They give you pace and forward pressure which is always handy.”

Klemke is expecting Murray Magpies to provide a fierce test at Henty on Saturday.

The Magpies were trounced by Holbrook last weekend and another loss could prove disastrous.

Culcairn host Jindera, Lockhart will battle against Osborne, Rand-Walbundrie-Walla meet Howlong and CDHBU will defeat the Crows.
