Fish rules could be tightening

TIGHTER trout fishing regulations have been proposed in Victoria, with a proposal to reduce bag limits in the Mitta and Ovens Rivers.

Under the plans, a 25 centimetre minimum size, and reduced bag limit from five to three, would be enforced in the Mitta River upstream of Lake Dartmouth.

The same rules would apply for the Ovens River upstream of the Porepunkah Bridge.

Fisheries Victoria is consulting with recreational anglers about the proposal, with written submissions due by July 13.
