But after taking a few weeks to settle in, Terrell has become a key part of the Bandits’ red-hot offence and a legitimate three-point threat alongside fellow guard Deba George.
With seven games under his belt, Terrell is shooting a hair under 40 per cent from three for an average of 14 points per game – but coach Brad Chalmers is expecting that average to continue trending upwards in the second half of the season.
“It wasn’t an easy position for him to be in when he arrived, but he's really started to work well with Deba,” he said.
“All of a sudden we have this one-two punch on the perimeter, a really dynamic combo who can shoot and attack the rim as well.
“It's just a matter of JT playing smart, he could have a really big game down the track.”
