Twenty-five women aged from teens to their 60s took part in Saturday’s event at the Albury, Wodonga and Districts Car Club circuit.
Event organiser Annabel Ranford said many of the drivers brought their own cars to race on the 1.6 kilometre tarmac track, guided by instructor John Boston.
“Who was just perfect at calming everyone’s nerves,” Ms Ranford said. “Everyone gained in confidence, gained in speed and the best part of the day was seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they came back into the pits after being on the track.”
The event also raised $1100 for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
