EIGHTY-three youngsters are taking part in the Albury-Wodonga Cricket Academy’s winter program.

Players from as far away as Gundagai, Bright, Corryong and Wangaratta are going through their paces for 14 weeks.

The program has been running at Major League Indoor Sports for six years with nationally accredited level three coach Max Shepherd delighted with its growth.

“It’s been fantastic,” Shepherd said.

“The kids are coming from a wide area again and it’s built up really nicely over the past few seasons.

“We’re looking forward to developing the players to be the best they can.

“There are a lot of talented cricketers in the region.”

Registrations are now being taken for the July school holidays three-day program.

It will run from July 10 to 12 with the basic skills of batting, bowling, wicket-keeping and fielding being covered.
