Brew spent most of the match in the centre square as the Tigers edged out Northern Blues by 14 points at IKON Park.
He also laid seven tackles playing alongside North Melbourne’s Andrew Swallow, Lindsay Thomas and Braydon Preuss.
“It was heaps of fun,” Brew, 20, said.
“Andrew Swallow came up before the game and introduced himself and I learnt a lot from him.
“He’s a quiet, humble sort of bloke.
“I was in the centre with him all day and it was a good learning experience.”
Brew has been a dominant player for Werribee in the VFL’s development competition this season.
Former Lavington best and fairest winner Nick Meredith, Albury’s Matt Munro, Myrtleford’s Jake Sharp and Henty’s Harrison Macreadie also played in Saturday’s match.
“Hopefully I get another game but it depends on selection,” Brew said.
“I thought I did alright, but it’s up to North Melbourne and the selectors.
“It was quicker and more skillful than the Ovens and Murray but hardness-wise it was pretty similar.
“It was good fun.”
Werribee coach John Lamont has been impressed by Brew’s progress.
“He’s had a massive learning curve,” Lamont said.
“In practice matches, he was holding onto the ball too long and then just hack kicking a bit, but he’s definitely adjusted his game.
“He’s a young player, of course, so he’s still got plenty of improvement in him.”
Brew was among North Albury’s best against Myrtleford in round three when free of VFL commitments.
