Man charged following violent tomahawk attack
A 21 year old Wodonga man has been charged over a violent altercation with a 20 year old Thurgoona man in his home. Both men received injuries from the use of knives and a tomahawk. More here

Albury Council recommends indoor pool be placed on the back-burner
Albury Council's community and cultural committee has recommended the long-running aquatics strategy be ripped up and focus directed to retaining the Albury and Lavington outdoor pools with the latter to be potentially replaced in 2021-22. More here

►Albury: A rare albino wallaby and her joey has been spotted out and about near the Border. Parks Victoria ranger John McDonald said the wallaby had been living in the same region for five years. Read on.
► Tamworth: TWO Tamworth schools are set to benefit from a multi-million-dollar cash windfall to be announced in Tuesday’s state budget.
The Leader can reveal Tamworth Public School and Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School will receive funding for extensive upgrades including new classrooms and learning centres. Read on.

► London: One man has been killed and eight taken to hospital after a van was used to drive into people at Finsbury Park in north London.
Police say one man has been arrested and there are a number of injured people being treated at the scene.

► London: It began with a sudden, frantic knocking on a door, late at night.
On the fourth floor of Grenfell Tower, a block of flats in west London, pregnant Maryam Adam, 41, had been deep in sleep when the loud banging woke her. The clock told her it was just after a quarter to one in the morning.
She went to the door. It was her neighbour, identified by one newspaper on Thursday as a 44-year old taxi driver from Ethiopia. Read on.
