More than 600 local players participated from Twin City Wanderers, Wodonga Diamonds, Wodonga Heart, Albury City, Albury United, Albury Hotspurs, Boomers, St Pats, Melrose, as well as teams from Yackandandah.
AWFA vice-president of Football Operations Nico Mathews headed the MiniRoos sub-committee who put on the gala day, which saw more than $3000 raised across the weekend.
In excess of $1600 was generated from a barbecue, while close to $900 came from sponsors donations and tins making their way around the ground during Sunday’s home games for Albury City and Albury United.
Thanks were extended to City and United presidents Cam Burns and Marty Chambers for their efforts.
The fundraising campaign ends on July 16, followed by a raffle to be drawn on July 31, which the association hopes will help it meet its overall goal of $10,000.
