The Wagga Road shop, which specialised in drive-through coffee and steamed beans, is part of a national franchise centred on highway rest stops.
“We’ve discovered it did not fit our model as well as we wanted it to and we’ll stick to our knitting on the highway,” Oliver’s business development manager Mark Patterson said.
“We are a highway-focussed retailer and we’ve realised the wisdom of sticking to that.”
Mr Patterson said that Hume Highway Albury-Wodonga sites were being sought for a new store.
The Wagga Road site will become home to Mugachino Mug2Go, a coffee business which occupied the building until January 2016.
Owner Jason Hounsell expects to open from July 31.
“We built it from scratch, it’s like your little baby, so it will be good to get back,” Mr Hounsell, who also owns Albury’s Electra Cafe, said.
