Hyde is unavailable with a prior commitment, while ruckman Oliver McEwan will also miss.
“It’s a planned rest, he’s just managing his body at the moment so it’s a good chance to freshen him up,” co-coach Joel Mackie said.
It’s top against bottom and, unfortunately, the Roos could resemble lambs to the slaughter after Yarrawonga’s record final quarter.
“We’ve got to go about our business as we have in the previous weeks,” Mackie said.
“We’ll pay them the respect they deserve and let the game unfold.”
Given the Roos’ situation, there’s every chance Albury forward Josh Mellington could dramatically cut the goalkicking lead to Wangaratta’s Michael Newton.
The Pies’ spearhead has a 15-goal break, but Mellington will be hungry after landing only three against Wangaratta.
