The home side claimed a 2-1 win in the division one men’s contest, with both sides fighting hard to get the upper hand.
Wodonga held firm in the women’s fixture to finish with a 3-3 draw and secure the overall bragging rights.
Rain at the start of the contest failed to slow the players down in what was a fast-paced game.
Both teams found the back of the net early, in afternoon filled with hard hits and amazing stops at either end.
Wodonga club secretary Vanessa Flanagan said the wife of the late Dave Chandler, Lorraine Chandler, presented the division one men’s best on ground.
“She was very pleased to see her late husband's memory still being honoured and she enjoyed a great day of hockey,” Flanagan added.
In the other men’s matches, CR United destroyed Norths, 10-3, while Falcons defeated Wombats, 2-1.
During the first half, the ball consistently see-sawed between both attacking circles until Falcons captain Charley Wallace put one away to give his side the lead at the break.
Wombats picked up the intensity in the second half, but Falcons managed to double the advantage, before a late goal by Wombats’ Josh MacVean finished it at 2-1.
The remaining women’s fixture saw Falcons score a 3-0 victory over Wombats, while the clash between Norths and CR United was deferred.
