THE Albury Netball Association’s 13 and under team was the Border’s best performed side at the association championship finals in Melbourne.

Coached by Leanne Meredith, the youngsters advanced to the final before going down to Banyule and Districts 12-10 in the decider.
Albury finished with four wins, two losses and a draw.
Wodonga’s 13 and under side was competitive in the other pool but finished with a 1-4 win-loss record after losing several tight matches.
Albury’s 15 and under team narrowly missed the semi-finals while the 17 and under and open teams had mixed results.
Association secretary Kath Dobson said the sides acquitted themselves well against some of the best players in Victoria.
“It was invaluable experience,” Dobson said.
“The 13 and under side did particularly well getting through to the final.
“All the sides learnt a lot on the day.”
Several former Ovens and Murray stars including Breda O’Kane were playing for different regions during the championships at the State Netball and Hockey Centre on Sunday.
