Now named Bella, she found an owner within a day of her plight being highlighted in The Border Mail by Family Vet Centre, Albury last week.
The cat had been surrendered to the clinic more than six months ago with her litter of newborn kittens, all of whom were adopted out before their mother.
Senior vet nurse Aimee Hollonds said the centre received heaps of inquiries about Mumma Cat.
“We were able to select the best home that suited for her,” Miss Hollonds said.
“It wasn’t just anyone who came in, it was the best one for her.”
Thurgoona couple Karen and Shane Gardner said Bella had settled in well with their three other cats.
“She’s running around, eating and drinking, playing with the other cats,” Mrs Gardner said. “We’ve got two boys and two girls now.
“I just read the story and thought, ‘Oh, poor little pussy cat’ and wanted to get her.”
Once they visited the clinic and saw the cat, they “fell in love, just her cute little face and her little purring”.
