The Eyers’ family, a stronghold of the Roos’ club, won a competition which guaranteed $10,000 to a sporting club.
The windfall will go some way to constructing an electronic scoreboard, which is now a feature at Lavington’s games.
“It’s just a fantastic thing to happen,” Corowa-Rutherglen president Graham Hosier said.
“It looks like we can put some money towards an electronic scoreboard.
“The Eyers family are loyal supporters.”
“The kids play in the junior sides and they’ve run the scoreboard.”
Brendan Eyers was a two-time premiership player with the Roos and was one of the league’s finest ruckmen during the club’s successful period.
