Last year’s Star Player Claire Mahoney has been in excellent form for St Pats again in 2017 and will play a key role.
United’s Mel Crorken said no matter the result, the side is happy with where it’s at.
“Obviously Boomers and (Albury) City are tough sides and have got a lot of depth, whereas we’ve got a lot of young girls coming through and are really in a rebuilding phase,” Crorken said.
“It’s more about getting the young girls through and getting them game time and giving Alicia (Torcaso) and other (senior players) rest on the bench (where possible), to get them through.
“We’re not looking to progress up the ladder, it’s not really our main aim, the main aim is getting girls there, so four or five years down the track, we’ll be up there.
“It’s very promising, we’ve got a lot to work on, but it’s very exciting.”
