The 101-year-old paid a visit to the pre-schoolers to deliver a special gift – a hand-knitted teddy bear.
Mrs Jones had decided to knit the bears after the pre-schoolers visited her at her home at Borella House three weeks ago.
She worked pretty quick-smart to get them done – each bear takes two weeks to craft by hand.
It was nothing for Mrs Jones though, who has spent her life caring for kids.
A dab hand at knitting, she has sent countless packages of handmade beanies, leggings and jumpers to children in East Timor over the years, and the teddy bears are her own special signature.
“When the kids came in one day, I had a teddy there and of course they all fell in love with it,” she said.
“I only had one, so I told them I’d knit each of them their own.”
The pre-schoolers have been visting Borella House for two years.
