But he insists they are there if you delve a little deeper to find them.
Like the Tallangatta and District league club’s average losing margins being cut from 300 to 150 to 100 points over the past three seasons.
Or the fact they are averaging nine goals a match this year after managing just a tick over five in 2016.
Realistically, Vennix only has two winning chances this season with the second coming against Dederang-Mount Beauty at John Flower Oval on Saturday.
The Bombers won their earlier encounter by 14 points at Dederang.
“It’s vitally important for us,” Vennix said.
“It’s been nearly three years since we won.
“I guess the main thing for us is to make sure we improve each week and don’t go backwards.
“Off the field we have improved and have a really good culture which a lot of oppositions clubs have told me as well.
“I’ve been here nine years now, it’s a great club and we just need to turn it around on-field.”
While Wodonga Saints will be hell-bent on rolling Dederang-Mount Beauty on Saturday, Vennix said the clubs had been brought together by their lack of success in recent seasons.
“Both teams are in the same boat,” he said.
“We have spent a bit of time with them and celebrated with them after they beat us earlier in the year.
“It was quite weird actually.
“You bounce ideas off each other and that’s the way country football should be.
“We are trying to bring back good, old-fashioned country football where we have a beer together after the game and laugh at each others mistakes.”
It’s not the only thing the clubs have in common.
Wodonga Saints and Dederang-Mount Beauty will band together on Saturday to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute.
The Black Dog Institute is a world leader in the research and education of mental illness.
“The clubs have organised a few things for the day and hopefully everyone gets behind it,” Vennix said.
“We actually brought in a counselor this year.
“He’s a chaplain but offers counselling to football and netballers as well.
“We see it as a very important way of providing support for people.”
Yackandandah will be looking to upset Thurgoona.
While the Bulldogs are still battling a long injury list, they should come away with the points through youngsters Corben Rawlings and Joel Roberson.
Barnawartha play KSC, Chiltern host Beechworth, Mitta United meet Rutherglen and Wahgunyah take on Tallangatta.
