Senior Constable Paul Guy has been working from the station for two months, and was appointed following community concern about the region lacking an officer.
Senior Constable Guy said he had been “enjoying it immensely” and was pleased to be helping out.
He had been stationed at Robinvale, near Mildura, before relocating to the North East with his family.
“It’s the first time I’ve worked in an area where there’s been issues with hunting,” he said.
“I’m working with the Game Management Authority to target and combat that.
“There are certainly plans to combat the issue.”
Senior Constable Guy said he wanted to be seen as approachable and open.
“You've got to rely on the community,” he said.
"They're the eyes and ears for anything untoward going on in the area.
“I want to get the message out there that I'm here to help. I'm pleased to be supporting a great community.”
